EDUCATION

The Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians (ASDC) at the present time do not accredit any particular educational provider or program. However the ASDC as a professional body do recognise students and graduates from the following endorsed institutions and programs listed below as eligible to apply for membership.

Endorsement of programs is by recommendation of Education and General Committee with voting by the membership of the ASDC as representatives of the dermal health profession.

 

All membership applications are subject to approval by the ASDC. You can view a list of membership types here, if you know which membership you would like to apply or renew for visit the shop  to make your purchase.

Full Membership
Recognised Undergraduate Education Programs

To apply for Full membership with the ASDC and be eligible to use the title "Dermal Clinician", applicants must have graduated from an endorsed Bachelor degree.  Currently, the ASDC recognises the programs listed below.

  • Bachelor of Dermal Science Victoria University

  • Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Dermal Therapies), *superseded Victoria University

  • Bachelor of Health Science (Dermal Therapies) *superseded Victoria University 

  • Bachelor of Health Science (Aesthetics) Torrens University

Associate Membership
Recognised Vocational & Under/Post Graduate Education Programs

To apply for Associate membership with the ASDC and be eligible to use the title "Dermal Therapist", applicants must have graduated from an ASDC endorsed vocational or undergraduate/postgraduate program listed below.

  • Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Clinical Aesthetics) Australasian College of Health and Wellness

  • Associate Degree in Applied Health Science (Dermal Therapy) Australasian College of Health and Wellness

  • Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science (10510NAT) AACDS and Gray Clay

  • Graduate Diploma in Dermal Therapies (52707WA) AACDS and Gray Clay

  • Graduate Diploma in Cosmetic Nursing (52709WA) AACDS and Gray Clay

  • Graduate Certificate in IPL and Laser Hair Reduction (SIB70110)

Student Membership
Recognised Vocational & Under/Post Graduate Education Programs

Students who are enrolled in ASDC endorsed Dermal Science/Therapy programs are also encouraged to apply as students and participate in ASDC events and continuing education opportunities. Depending on which ASDC endorsed course you are enrolled in (see affiliated institutions and recognised education programs below), will determine which title students may use ie. "Student Dermal Clinician" or "Student Dermal Therapist"

Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatolgists

We are pleased to announce that the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians and the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists have co-signed an affiliate agreement in the commitment of working together in the future toward common goals. This will see the ASDC and ASCD working together on occasion to develop education programs for cosmetic dermatology, developing position papers, articles and media releases as well as standards and guidelines promoting safety and best practices in cosmetic dermatology treatment.

For our members this also provides priority for ASDC members in registration for ASCD events
