In contemporary dermal practice, both practitioners and clients are increasingly recognising that skin health is influenced by more than topical care alone. Stress physiology, inflammation, hormonal regulation, and nervous system activity all play a role in how skin presents, responds to treatment, and recovers over time. As a result, dermal therapists/clinicians are more frequently asked about integrative or adjunctive approaches.

 

This presentation provides a clinically grounded overview of how Chinese Medicine and cosmetic acupuncture can support dermal practice.  Rather than positioning Chinese Medicine as an alternative or competing modality, the session will explore how it functions as a complementary approach when skin concerns extend beyond local treatment alone.
