About the Event

With the vast majority of our population affected by acne at some point in their lives, it is no wonder that the skincare industry has an abundance of products to try and treat acne. These treatments have come a long way through technology, research and innovation, now experts in this field are focusing on the entire body system when considering the most effective treatment.

Combination therapy with topical and internal support has proven to be more effective in managing acne compared to monotherapy. Experts now emphasise a holistic approach to acne management, considering factors such as mental health, the influence of diet and the gut microbiome on skin health.

This presentation is brought to us by sponsors Skin-B5 and hosted by Julie Seamer a Naturopath with 25 years of clinical experience.  Julie began training in herb/drug management with Pharmacists when vitamins, minerals, and supplements (VMS) first came into Australian pharmacies. Her clinics have been based in the pharmacy environment, both in regional and urban areas as well as within skin clinics and community health centres.  A mother of two and former Journalist, Julie is a keen writer, having contributed to wellbeing magazines and various publications. Her book ‘Your Body is Your Teacher’ is a compilation of “light bulb” moments from personal experiences and real cases. Chapters include diverse topics such as anxiety and acne, cancer, eating disorders, arthritis, infectious disease, nutrigenomics and an exploration of what drives both our conditions and illness recovery
