About the Event
Australia’s cosmetic laser industry operates within a fragmented and inconsistent regulatory setting. While technology continues to advance rapidly, questions remain regarding practitioner competency, regulatory oversight and consumer safety.
This webinar presents emerging findings from a national PhD study examining the effectiveness of laser regulation in Australia. Drawing on quantitative and qualitative data from practitioners, consumers and regulators, the session will explore the proposed “4C Model” — Core Regulatory Requirements, Competency, Consumer Awareness and Compliance — and how these elements interact to influence safety outcomes. Rosanna created the 4C Model as a 12-part measuring system within her Conceptual framework.
The discussion will address:
Whether current regulatory frameworks adequately protect the public
The role of formal education and structured training in improving compliance
The importance of consumer awareness in driving safer practice
