The ASDC has lodged certification trademarks in December 2022, for the titles Dermal Clinician and Dermal Therapist with logos. These have been approved by IP Australia and are now being reviewed by the ACCC. The ASDC is working with Maddox Law Firm with the documentation required to establish the rules that will outline the use and licence for the certification mark.

The certification mark will play an important role in self-regulation and registration of Members. In the absence of government protection of title, this will provide members that are registered with the ASDC the licence to advertise themselves as a Dermal Clinician or Therapist in their business activities with the protections of the certification trade mark.
